Hey, I know many of you might still be hesitant to attend the rally, and probably there's a number of reasons. But, whichever the reason, please remember this:
You should attend the rally even if you were the only person attending! You shoulld attend because YOU"VE HAD ENOUGH and you want to tell Congress everything that you have had to be quiet about so far! You should attend because we may not get a chance like this again!
Think about this. When you are driving your car late at night and you come up to a traffic light on red, you still stop even if there are no cars to be seen anywhere. You do it because that's the right thing to do. When you see someone beating somebody up you speak up, right? Because that's the right thing to do. We are putting the green light on right now for you to speak up, and we have the chance to tell Congress how we have been "betaen up" repeatedly by the system. WE NEED TO DO THIS! Don't stay quiet!!!

Don't tell me that If I come from India, I don't assimilate with the local population.
You don't get it, do you? I've never talked about you. What I am saying is simply this: If you don't limit the number of immigrants from one country, you essentially become a part of that country with the influx of people coming from there. This is what people in America are afraid of. They can't limit the influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico and other latin america countries, and it is becoming a big deal for them, since they don't want to be forced to learn spanish next time they go to a diner.
Is it racist? probably so. But remember, it is their country; They make the laws. They can make people dance for 5 minutes at ports of entry while they film it and post it to youtube if they like (see recent articles about search and seizures of returning greencard holders' electronic equipment).
If you support the old colonist and racist mentality , you stand no where. If you are so afraid of competing with Chinese and Indians that you have to refer Black period of American history, then my friend you don't belong on this website.

so i need to get the affidavit from notary signed that it is a true translation from telugu to english so this is a replacement of English DOB Certificate.
It will be much better if this is done in India by your relatives, get it notorized. They can scan it and send it as an attachement through e-mail, which you can print it over here.
This will be much quicker rather than trying to find someone authorized to do this translation over here.

I know most of you are EB2 but hey I am happy that EB3 finally moved to 2004 now I just am waiting for it to go to june 2005 and I just might get my card ;-)

The regular quota for EB2 and EB3 combined is only about 9,800. That means 17,700 visas have to come from somewhere. I dont think those many visas are remaining for this year. Be prepared to see FIFO thrown under the bus and approvals with PDs that are all over the place. Please critique this analysis without piling on. Thoughts?
DOS has stated that they have given entire EB1 over flow (approx 25,000 visa's) and EB2 ROW over flow to EB2 I and C. Per my estimate, It is definitely possible that we could see at least 30k to 40k EB2 I approvals for this FY.
If only DOS pulls up some kind of trick and come up with strategy to give similar kind of over flow next year to EB3 I and C. We could see EB3 cut off move to Mid 2003.

should such people just wait hoping they will receive an RFE (I don't like this one at all) whenever the case is opened? TINA WROTE: For initial evidence items I believed that it would be automatically rejected if not included, HOWEVER, with the new press release from USCIS on July 23, if i-485s WITHOUT medical reports will be accepted, then what is an employment letter? abhijitp WROTE: I hope that is true. AILA seems to be working on this. I am happy to believe it if USCIS issues a press release to that effect... high hopes:-)

July 2nd .... But at least we will get EAD & AP and work and travel freely
with our choice of employers and clients. :)

� The Interagency Border Inspection System (IBIS)
Name Check� IBIS is a multiagency effort with a central system that combines information from multiple agencies, databases and system interfaces to compile data relating to national security risks, public safety issues and other law enforcement concerns. USCIS can quickly check information from these multiple government agencies to determine if the information in the system affects the adjudication of the case. Results of an IBIS check are usually available immediately. In some cases, information found during an IBIS check will require further investigation. The IBIS check is not deemed completed until all eligibility issues arising from the initial system response are resolved.
� FBI Fingerprint Check�FBI fingerprint checks are conducted for many applications. The FBI fingerprint check provides information relating to criminal background within the United States. Generally, the FBI forwards responses to USCIS within 24-48 hours. If there is a record match, the FBI forwards an electronic copy of the criminal history (RAP sheet) to USCIS. At that point, a USCIS adjudicator reviews the information to determine what effect it may have on eligibility for the benefit. Although the vast majority of inquiries yield no record or match, about 10 percent do uncover criminal history (including immigration violations). In cases involving arrests or charges without disposition, USCIS requires the applicant to provide court certified evidence of the disposition. Customers with prior arrests should provide complete information and certified disposition records at the time of filing to avoid adjudication delays or denial resulting from misrepresentation about criminal history. Even expunged or vacated convictions must be reported for immigration purposes.
� FBI Name Checks�FBI name checks are also required for many applications. The FBI name check is totally different from the FBI fingerprint check. The records maintained in the FBI name check process consist of administrative, applicant, criminal, personnel and other files compiled by law enforcement. I agree with you..
I've so many hard working American friends... it really make me want to work harder to compete with them, but these bunch of cry babies at Numbers are scared of skilled workers, they don't want to upgrade their skills, they want to work 9-5 and get paid for their incompetencies.

Hmmmm, Confused. Alright, Did I hear there are exceptions. No, my dear. We got it the wrong way here. Fact is
Some Consulting Companies Do Subvert the Law and/or take Advantage of folks on H1. *
One or more of them are owned by Indians. ( commonly called desi by Indians )
One or more of them are not owned by Indians.
Where does the More End ? A small percentage, a big chunk, average ??? There is no study which has been done on the same. We all see it in the perception we hold. And when it comes to negativity, we tend to exaggerate. ( Or maybe we dont and I've a wrong perception )
* Non-consulting companies also do take advantage of H1b folks if possible - dont think I've to give examples of the same.
I dont work for a desi company. But I've quite a few friends who work for Desi firms - most of them are happy and have been treated nice and fair. A small number had issues. This is my experience. Certainly not something which makes me identify with the rest of the sentiments.
As per Logiclife, unpaid period on bench is a certainty. No my dear. Thats an exaggeration.

Well, I thought of writing more but who am I telling this to and why ?
Rants over - time to get back to my life. I've got something else to finish which I know will bring me more flames but possibly help this organization too and that matters more. Flame me as much as you want to for being the odd man out in the thread ( there are others too - not that I'm the only one ) but possibly I wont even come back to this thread to read the flames :-)

This is great news for IV cause..IV can use this to its advantage to prove the EU will get immigrants easily and US will face pressure in getting highly skilled immigrants.
We know it very well that most of the students go to EU, Australia etc due to delays in F1 visas and less prospects of getting green card..

Thanks desi3933, couple more questions...
do I have to submit only the job offer letter?
Should it be the old(one I originally got) one or get one from the employer saying I am currently employed as permanent for the same salary as in I140?
Do I have to send the W2 from last year?
Do I have to send 2 pay stubs from this year?
Please read my post again.
The letter is for future GC job, not for your current job.
